More Problems with Sweetwater Performance Center Marina
They can't get anything right. Instead of just crediting us the remainder of our slip fee, they came up with imaginary ways of decreasing our credit. They want to take off for winter storage, that we paid at the beginning of last summer on the seasonal contract. They also want to take off for winterization. It's June. We never received any bill for any winterization. We requested that they do that before storing it last fall but after repeated calls and a letter, all of which went unanswered, they never said it was winterized. We expected to find frost damage, luckily we didn't but who knows if it was ever completed. We'll never know.

Changed Marinas
We moved the boat out of Sweetwater Performance Marina in Oshkosh this weekend. Temporarily slipping it at the Appleton Yacht Club until our membership application goes through. Shouldn't be any problems with that, just need to get accepted at the board meeting on the second Thursday of the month.
Sweetwater is still such a dump. They keep promising to have bathrooms and showers available, swearing that they would be done by May 15th. We finished the deatailing of the boat Memorial Day weekend and launched the boat on Sunday - with no help from Sweetwater - we actually had to go to another marina down the road to launch it ourselves instead of them lifting it off the trailer and dropping it in. "It's easier that way", yeah right, for THEM. Anyway, once we got docked - after an hour wait at the railroad bridge for two trains - we went to check the new bathrooms. What a joke, a couple of toilets mounted on a bare concrete floor. Construction crap everywhere. Doors that aren't mounted or won't close. Dumpsters overflowing with trash. Unfriendly, arrogant, owners. I wonder what the Oshkosh city inspectors would say about that. The location was great but nowhere near enough to make up for everything bad about the place. The only good thing I can say is that they promised to refund our lease. We have yet to see if they can get that right. How hard is it to credit money back on our account?
Everyone at AYC is incredibly friendly and more than willing to answer our questions and help us out. There's a full bar and restaurant. The bathrooms are clean. The place is secure - nobody can just wander in off the street and mess with the boats. The scenery is awesome, high bluffs on either side of the river. While the local bars and restaurants aren't within walking distance, there's only a short drive to downtown Appleton and a much wider selection than Oshkosh.
Can't wait till this weekend. Praying for the weather to be nice.

Appleton Yacht Club
Checking out a different marina. Sweetwater Performance Center Marina is a dump, all their promises are unfulfilled.
